How to add a new business or trust recipient.

Add a new business or trust as a recipient so you can send money to them. This article walks you through what to enter and what happens after you save them.

You can add a recipient for:

  • Yourself - for example, an account you hold overseas.
  • Another person.
  • A business or trust.

This article covers adding a business or trust recipient. To send money to another person, or to yourself, see How to add a new individual recipient.

Before you start

  • You need an active Send account.
  • Have the business or trust name ready, and enter it exactly as shown on the bank account details you have been given.
  • Have the business or trust registered address.
  • Have their bank details for the country and currency you are sending to. Bank codes vary by country and currency (for example, IBAN, SWIFT/BIC, BSB, account number).
  • For some countries, you may be asked to provide additional tax information for the recipient.
  • You must add the recipient and wait for them to become Active before you can send money to them.

Step 2: Start adding a new recipient

  • In the top right of the Recipients page, select Add recipient.
  • When asked for the recipient type, choose A business or trust.
  • In the top right of the Recipients page, select Add recipient.
  • When asked for the recipient type, choose:
    • Myself - if you're an business sending money to your own account (for example, an account you hold overseas).
    • A business or trust - if you are sending money to another business or trust.
    • A person - See, <u>How to add a new individual recipient</u>.

[Suggested visual: add a screenshot of the Add recipient button and the recipient type options with A business or trust highlighted.]

Step 3: Enter the bank details

  • Choose the country the money is going to.
  • Choose the currency you want to send.

Step 4: Enter the recipient details

Enter the recipient details exactly as they appear on the bank account details you have been given:

  • Business or trust name
  • Address of the business

Tip: Small differences, like a typo in the business name, can cause the bank to reject the payment. Please double-check the spelling.

Step 5: Add tax information (if requested)

  • If no tax fields appear, you don't need to complete this step.
  • For some countries, you may be asked to provide additional tax information for the recipient.
  • If these fields appear, complete them carefully.

Step 6: Enter the account details

  • Account name (the name on their bank account)
  • Enter the bank codes and account details shown on screen. The fields will change based on the country and currency you selected.
  • If you need help finding a particular bank code, please contact our support team.
  • Check every field carefully.

[Suggested visual: add a screenshot of the bank details section showing how fields change for different countries.]

Step 7: Check the bank validation

For some countries, we automatically check the bank code you entered.

When validation is available, you will see a panel showing the bank's name and country. We will also let you know if the bank is located in a different country to the one you chose.

  • If the bank name and country look right, click Next.
  • If anything looks wrong, check the details with the business or trust before continuing.

The bank validation only checks the bank code and related bank information. It does not verify the recipient or confirm account ownership.

[Suggested visual: add a screenshot of the bank validation panel.]

What happens next

After you save, the recipient will be reviewed before you can use them for payments.

While the review is in progress, you may see one of these statuses in the portal:

  • PENDING - the recipient is under review.
  • TO DO - we require more information from you.
  • ACTIVE - the recipient is available to use.
  • INACTIVE - the recipient is not available to use.

If additional information is required, follow the instructions shown in the portal.
