Does Send charge fees to send my money?
This article explains how Send shows the cost of your international transfer, what the "Fees from Send" line on your payment and transfer confirmation means, and what other charges may apply along the way.
Before you confirm a transfer, Send shows you a summary of the amount being sent, the exchange rate, the “Fees from Send”, and the amount your recipient is expected to receive.
How costs are shown when you send money
When you make an international transfer with Send, you can see a clear summary of your transfer on the confirmation page before you confirm. This summary includes:
- The amount being sent.
- The exchange rate being applied.
- A line showing fees from Send
- The total amount your recipient will receive.
You can review this summary before deciding whether to go ahead with your transfer.
About exchange rates
Once you confirm your payment or transfer, your exchange rate is guaranteed as long as you fund the transaction in time. For more detail, see Is my exchange rate locked in?
Local vs SWIFT international transfers
International transfers can be sent in two ways, depending on the recipient's country and currency:
- Local payments use domestic clearing systems in the recipient's country. They typically arrive within 1-2 business days.
- SWIFT payments use the international banking network. They are useful for urgent or high-value transfers and have broad global coverage.
For SWIFT payments, the receiving bank or any intermediary banks may deduct their own charges along the way. This means your recipient could receive less than the amount sent. These charges are set by those banks and are outside Send's control.
How to see the fees charged when making a payment
Step 1: Start a new payment
- Log in to your Send account.
- Start a new payment and enter the amount you want to send, or the amount you want your recipient to receive.

What happens next
- Once you confirm, your transfer is processed and sent to your recipient.
- Local payments typically arrive within 1-2 business days.
- SWIFT payments may take longer, depending on the receiving country, the recipient's bank, and any intermediary banks involved.
- For SWIFT payments, if an intermediary or receiving bank deducts its own charges, the final amount your recipient receives may be less than the amount sent. Send is unable to control or refund these third-party bank charges.
