Can my business account receive funds from international clients?
Send wallets are designed so that you, the account owner, fund your own wallet from a bank account held in your business's name. Payments from your international clients sent directly into your Send wallet will be flagged and may be delayed or returned. This article explains why, and how to receive money from an international client using another method and then fund your own wallet.
Are you an individual? See Adding money into your account or wallet.
Important: Send only accepts payments into your wallet from your business's own bank accounts. Payments from another person or business on your behalf - including from your clients, family, friends, employers, or companies issuing refunds - will be flagged and may be delayed or returned.
Before you start
- Send wallets are built so that you, the account owner, fund your own wallet. This applies whether you have an individual account or a business account.
- If we receive a payment from an account name that does not match your verified account details, it will be flagged and may be delayed or returned.
- If you want to move money you have already received from a client into your Send wallet, see Adding money into your account or wallet.
Why payments from someone else may not go through
- Payments into your Send wallet are monitored to help protect your account and to meet our compliance obligations.
- If a payment comes from an account name that does not match your business's name, it will be flagged and may be delayed or returned.
- This means payments directly from your international clients may not be credited to your Send wallet.
What to do instead
Step 1: Have your international client pay you the way you normally would
- Ask your international client to pay you using your usual business bank account (for example, your Australian business bank account, or another account you already receive customer payments into).
- How your client pays you, and any fees or timing they experience, is between you, your client, and their bank. Send is not involved at this stage.
Step 2: Move the money into your Send wallet from your own bank account
- Once the funds have arrived in your own business bank account, you can transfer them into your Send wallet.
- Log in to Send, open the wallet you want to fund, and follow the details shown under "Add funds to your wallet" or by clicking the Add funds button.
- Make sure the transfer you make into Send comes from a bank account held in your business's name.
- For step-by-step instructions, see Adding money into your account or wallet.

Important: the account name you send to
When you transfer money into your Send wallet from your own bank account, the account name you send to depends on the bank details shown for your wallet. Your wallet will display one of the following account names:
- SENDFX LIMITED CMA, or
- Send Payments
Always use the exact account name shown on your wallet's "Add funds to your wallet" screen. Using a different name may cause your bank to delay the payment.
What happens next
- Once you send funds into your wallet from your own bank account, most local transfers arrive within a few hours, but may take up to one business day. International (SWIFT) transfers can take 1-2 business days, and sometimes longer.
- Before funds are credited, the payment may be reviewed.
- We may request supporting documentation to verify the legitimacy of an incoming payment. Depending on the transaction, this may include documents such as an invoice or contract.
- If further information is required, we may request it from you before the payment is credited.
- If a payment appears to have come from someone other than your business, it will be flagged and may be delayed or returned.
Common questions
My international client sent money straight to my Send wallet. What happens now?
- The payment will be flagged and may be delayed or returned.
- To avoid this, please ask your client to pay you through your usual business bank account instead. You can then move those funds into your Send wallet yourself. See Adding money into your account or wallet.
My bank is asking me for the account name. Should I use SendFX Limited?
- Please always use the exact account name shown on your wallet's "Add funds to your wallet" screen. Depending on how your wallet is set up, that will be either SENDFX LIMITED CMA or Send Payments.
- Using a different name (even a name that looks similar) may cause your bank to delay the payment.
You've asked me for documents about the payment. Why?
- As a regulated financial business, we may request supporting documentation. This helps us protect your account and meet our compliance and legal obligations.
- Providing requested documents promptly may assist our review.
Can I receive money from my client in any currency?
- Send wallets are currency specific. If you'd like to hold or receive funds in a different currency, you can open a new wallet first. See How to open a new wallet.
- Some currencies are not supported. See Which currencies does Send support? for the current list.
