Can I earn interest on money in my wallet?
A quick guide to whether your Send wallet earns interest, and how to move money out of your wallet when you're ready.
The short answer
No. Send wallets do not earn interest on the money you hold in them.
Send specialises in sending money internationally and exchanging currencies. Send wallets are designed to support those activities.
If you do not want funds held in your Send wallet, you can transfer money from your wallet to a bank account in your own name, or pay a recipient.
Before you start
If you'd like to move money out of your Send wallet, you'll need:
- The bank account details of where the money is going (either your own account, or a recipient's account in their name)
- Your Send login details
How to move money out of your send account
To move money out of your Send wallet, you create a payment to a recipient. The recipient can be yourself or someone you're paying.
Step 1: Add the recipient
- Log in to the Send portal
- Go to the Recipients section
- Add a new recipient
- To pay yourself, use your own name and your own bank account details
- To pay someone else, use their name and their bank account details
Step 2: Create the payment
- Go to the Payments section
- Choose the wallet you'd like to send money from
- Select the recipient you just added (yourself or someone else)
- Enter the amount you'd like to send
- Review the details and confirm
What happens next
- Send will process your payment to the bank account you've chosen
- Timing depends on the currency and the bank receiving the funds
- You'll see the payment status update in your Send portal
- Once the money arrives in the bank account, it is held by that bank and is no longer in your Send wallet

I want a better return on my wallet balance
- Send wallets are designed to support international transfers and currency exchange, and do not earn interest
- If you do not want to keep funds in your wallet, you can transfer them to a bank account in your own name, or use them to pay a recipient
Will Send ever offer interest on wallet balances?
- Send does not currently offer interest on wallet balances
Does my wallet balance lose value if I leave it there?
- No. The balance in your wallet stays the same in that currency
- It does not earn interest, and Send does not charge a fee just for holding funds
- Exchange rates can change over time, so that currency may be worth more or less when compared with another currency later
